Management Team

M&G Steel’s Management team has also been involved in key leadership roles in the Industry, including Chair of the Ontario CISC Regional Committee, Chair of the TCA, and Chair of the TCA Trade Contractors sub-committee. M&G has a continuing commitment of participation in Industry Associations such as the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction and the Toronto Construction Association.

Mel Grimes is the former Vice-President and General Manager of Marshall Steel. Prior to the formation of   M & G Steel Ltd. he was responsible for both Fabrication and Service Centre operations at Marshall. Mel graduated with a Master’s Degree in Engineering from McGill University in 1972.

Brian Thompson has held various positions at Dominion Bridge before joining M&G Steel in 1997.  He has worked as a Design Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering in the shop, Production Manager and Project Manager in the eleven years spent at Dominion Bridge.  Brian graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Western Ontario in 1986.

Chris Adach came to M&G Steel with a varied background in Project Management.  He has held positions at Marshall Steel (12 years) and F.J. Reinders & Associates (7 years) as a Project Manager before joining M&G in 1995.  Chris graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Waterloo in 1976 and has obtained a Master's of Business Administration in 1988 from McMaster University.
